School: Police Investigation Finds Social Media Rumors Of Threat Against Enochs High Are False

UPDATE: The school has confirmed Modesto Police have concluded their investigation and found these rumors to be false.

The school posted the following statement on Wednesday night:

A big thank you to our police department, the MPD have completed their investigation and the rumors were determined to be false. If you have any new information please do not hesitate to notify the school 550-3401. We are grateful to the staff, students and parents of EHS and the community for speaking out. See you at school tomorrow!

Police started receiving calls from concerned parents and students at around 8 p.m. after rumors of threats against the school were seen throughout social media, but with no source of where the threats came from.

After nearly two hours of looking into the issue, school officials say police did not find a credible threat.

MODESTO (CBS13) — Modesto Police say they are investigating possible threats against a school after rumors spread on social media.

Twitter was filled on Wednesday night with students worried about rumors of a student possibly targeting the school, but Modesto Police have not specified where the threat came from.

Police say there will be an increased presence at the school to allay fears of parents and students. Though there is no credible evidence of the attack being carried out, the police department takes these threats seriously.
