Miley Cyrus Licks Piano To Raise Money During Gala Vanguard Awards

LOS ANGELES (CBS Sacramento) - Miley Cyrus was honored at the 46th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards this past weekend hosted by the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

Linda Perry, a close friend of Miley's, helped to auction off a white piano that several musicians she worked with in the past signed. Musicians such as Gwen Stefani, Adam Lambert, Christina Agulera and even Miley have their John Hancocks on the piano.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Perry told Miley before bidding began that she had to lick the piano in order to help make more money. Cyrus was also honored for her Happy Hippie Foundation which is a non-profit organization that helps homeless youth and fights injustices for the LGBT community.

Cyrus said during her acceptance speech, "I want all of you to know that I feel beyond grateful to be in a room full of so many people who care so much about others because, unfortunately, that is way too rare in the world that we live in today. I'm thinking of tonight not as celebrating what we've already done, but what we're doing and what we're going to do in the future."

During the award show actress Jane Fonda and screenwriter Ron Nyswaner were also honored.

The piano Miley licked sold for $50,000.
