Kings Stung By Hornets In Overtime, 127-122

At one point in the third quarter, the Sacramento Kings looked unstoppable.

Rajon Rondo was dictating the tempo, DeMarcus Cousins was hitting everything, and the Kings' defense was smothering.

Then, it all fell apart.

Kemba Walker scored 39 points and Jeremy Lin had eight points in overtime to lead the Charlotte Hornets to a 127-122 come-from-behind victory over Sacramento on Monday night.

The Kings, who led by as many as 22 in the second half, appeared to take control of the game with a 31-14 third quarter performance.  The Hornets, however, came charging back thanks to 21 fourth-quarter points from Kemba Walker, erasing a 17-point deficit to reclaim the lead with a minute left to play.  After a Walker bucket put Charlotte up two with 0.7 seconds left, it took a lob from Rajon Rondo to Rudy Gay to beat the buzzer and force overtime.

DeMarcus Cousins scored 12 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, but sat out overtime with back stiffness.  Cousins played well in the fourth, but didn't appear to be completely healthy.  He also chipped in 11 rebounds.  Rudy Gay had 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Rondo's 20 assists, the last of which setup Gay's buzzer-beater to force overtime, surpassed the Sacramento-era single-game record of 18.  It was his fourth game of 15 or more assists this season, which is twice as many as the rest of the NBA combined.

The Hornets (8-6) outscored the Kings 15-10 in overtime.

Sacramento (5-10) wraps up their road trip in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
