Man Dies After Fight With Family Member In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A man is suspected of fatally assaulting a family member in Sacramento on Sunday afternoon.

Police went to the 4800 block of 71st Street around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a man was injured during a fight with a relative. Fire department paramedics arrived and took the 40-year-old Bradford S. Adams to the hospital where he later died, according to a statement from the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers canvassed the area looking for clues in assault, and due to what police say were "circumstances surrounding the incident" requested assistance from homicide detectives.

Detectives interviewed family members of the victim and believe a 37-year-old family member assaulted the victim.

The details of the assault are being turned over to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office so they can determine possible charges.

The victim's cause of death is under investigation.
