Ohio Woman Killed In Calif. Skiing Accident

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a 21-year-old woman from Ohio has died after a skiing accident at a Southern California mountain.

The San Bernardino County coroner's office says Natalie Altieri died at a hospital Sunday from injuries suffered when she collided with a metal stairway at Bear Mountain resort east of Los Angeles.

Altieri was a student at the University of Cincinnati in its design, architecture, art, planning program. The Jackson Township native studied fashion design and had been in California since August to work with BCBG Max Azria Group as part of a student co-op program.

An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death.
