Temperatures Just Above Record Lows As Clouds, Rain Moves Through Our Region

Now that we've had a widespread freeze, no more official "Freeze Warnings" will be issued for the valley by  the National Weather Service until we get back to the warmer season, with budding trees -- when a freeze would be out of the ordinary again.

That being said, we're within a couple of degrees of record lows again on this Monday morning.

  • Sacramento Executive Airport: 28 degrees (1954)
  • Stockton: 27 degrees (2004)
  • Modesto: 29 degrees (2004)

The normal low should be in the low 40s, so this is a lot colder than usual!

We'll see plenty of clouds today, even the chance of a few light showers mainly north of Sacramento, as a system moves through just to our north.

There will be more sunshine Tuesday before skies cloud up again Wednesday.

The next storm is Thursday, and this one is going to be windy!

SW gusts in Sac area of 35-40 mph expected, lots of leaves coming down with this one.

Slightly higher snow level above 5000' due to milder nature of this system coming in from the west, rather than down from the north.

Six to twelve inches of snow are possible in the Sierra.
