German Grocery Chain's Emotional Holiday Commercial Making The Internet Cry

A German grocery store chain has a commercial out for the holidays that's generating a lot of buzz for its powerful message.

The ad for the company EDEKA, which is in German with English subtitles (which you probably don't need anyway), runs 1:46 and tells the story of a senior who's alone for the holidays. It's well-made and has a clever ending you have to see, although it might not be safe for work if you cry easily.

Some people have gone to social media saying they liked the commercial, calling it a "tear-jerker", "touching", and that it helped them appreciate their family more. Others are calling it manipulative.

As of Wednesday morning, the commercial had been seen almost 21 million times on YouTube.
