Placer County Teen Accused Of Making Terrorist Threats From School To Nearby Home

By Kelly Ryan

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — A Placer County teen could face charges after calling in a bomb threat and making references to terrorism.

The incident happened at Creekview Ranch School in Roseville and forced authorities to evacuate the school.

The bomb scare happened just after 8 a.m., prompting a campus search by the Placer County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's department says the threatening phone call was a received by a woman living near the school who said a young-sounding voice threatened to bomb her house and the Creekview Ranch School, and made references to jihad and Sept. 11.

Investigators say they soon discovered the call came from the school, and deputies eventually found the boy who they say admitted to the prank. He was arrested on charges of making criminal threats causing a disturbance at the school and making a false report about a bomb. He could face suspension or expulsion.

The incident is unnerving to many parents and for some has put them on edge.
