Poll: 41 Percent Of Trump Supporters Favor Bombing Aladdin's Fictional Home Of Agrabah

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A new poll has found close to half of supporters of presidential candidate Donald Trump would bomb the fictional country from the Disney movie "Aladdin."

When asked about bombing how to handle the threat of ISIS, 41 percent of Trump supporters were in favor of bombing Agrabah, a country that only exists in the fictional world of the 1992 movie. That was the strongest support in the field of 2016 presidential candidates for targeted attacks to remove terrorists from a fictional country.

Here's a breakdown of how the supporters of each Republican candidate felt about attacking a country who may be harboring a genie.

  • Rick Santorum 34 percent
  • Chris Christie 33 percent
  • Jeb Bush 31 percent
  • Ted Cruz 30 percent
  • Marco Rubio 30 percent
  • Rand Paul 27 percent
  • Carly Fiorina 24 percent
  • Mike Huckabee 18 percent
  • Ben Carson 13 percent
  • John Kasich 11 percent
  • Prospective Republican voters 30 percent

No supporters of Jim Gilmore, Lindsay Graham or George Pataki favored bombing Agrabah, but their low poll numbers mean there was likely not a statistically relevant number of voters to draw from.

Martin O'Malley's supporters were the strongest supporters in the Democratic field of air strikes on the setting of one of Robin Williams' most notable roles. Here's a breakdown:

  • Martin O'Malley 39 percent
  • Bernie Sanders 23 percent
  • Hillary Clinton 13 percent
  • Prospective Democratic voters 19 percent

The survey polled 532 Republican voters and 525 Democratic primary voters on Dec. 16 and 17. The full results can be seen here.
