Police Searching For Man Who Tried To Sexually Assault Elk Grove Woman

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Police are asking for help in finding the man who tried to sexually assault a 64-year-old woman.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 8. According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a woman was walking near Alpinesprings Way and Meadowsprings Drive when a man walked up behind her and pushed her to the ground.

The man, believed to be only about 18 to 20 years old, then tried to pull off her leggings.

Police say the woman screamed once she saw the man trying to pull down the front of his sweatpants, scaring him off. The woman suffered minor injuries in the attack but did not need any medical treatment.

A composite sketch has been released of the suspect. He is further described as a standing about 5'11'', weighing about 200 pounds, and was wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants and white athletic shoes at the time of the attack.
