Woman Pulled From Burning Car By Anonymous 'Hero'

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - A driver is being called a "true hero" by police after he or she pulled a woman to safety shortly after a fiery crash in Vacaville on Monday night.

Just before 7 p.m., a woman was driving her vehicle on Leisure Town Road near Vanden Road when, she collided with another vehicle, which resulted in her vehicle rolling over and catching fire, according to Vacaville Police Department statement.

The rescuer sprang into action and got the woman out of the car. The woman was then transported to the hospital with only minor injuries.

In a statement, police thanked the hero and said, "without your brave actions this collision would have ended in certain tragedy."

Officers say they know the identity of the rescuer but are honoring his or her request to remain anonymous.

Police have not released the exact cause of the crash.
