Caltrans Making Emergency Repairs On I-5 North Of Laguna Boulevard

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Traffic in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Elk Grove may see significant delays this afternoon as Caltrans makes emergency repairs on a slab of the freeway.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, the northbound #2 and #3 lanes, about a half mile north of Laguna Boulevard, will be closed until midnight as crews replace a 100-foot slab of damaged concrete in the #2 lane, Caltrans said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

Caltrans says the work needs to be done in dry conditions. With rain in the forecast overnight, the window to make repairs is short.

Caltrans advises drivers expect delays or choose an alternate route.
