Metro Fire Crews Rescue Dozens Of Animals In One Day
NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – Sacramento Metro Fire says it set a new record, rescuing 39 animals within 24 hours.
Most of those came from a home in North Highlands Thursday, where firefighters saved 14 dogs, four cats and two birds.
Metro Fire says they were able to do this because crews are equipped with a variety of oxygen masks ranging in sizes to fit a Great Dane to a small cat.
Firefighters would like the public to remember that in the case of a fire, your own safety should be first priority.
