Man Shot And Killed In Lodi

LODI (CBS13) - Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened on Monday morning in Lodi. It is the second shooting death in city less than 24 hours.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of East Oak Street. A police spokesman says the 27-year-old victim was shot multiple times while sitting in his pickup truck outside of his home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sunday's deadly Lodi shooting happened only a few blocks away, along Garfield near East Tokay streets.

Around 2 p.m., a 20-year-old man was standing in the driveway of his residence when he was killing shot in the back. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Police say a light-colored SUV may have been involved in that shooting.

Sunday's shooting was the first homicide of the year.

Police have not said whether the two shootings are linked.
