NBA: Referees Missed Traveling Call On Game-Winning Shot In Sacramento Kings Loss
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The NBA has acknowledged that referees erred in not calling traveling on a Charlotte Hornets player on a game-winning shot against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
Troy Daniels hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 11.5 seconds remaining to give the Hornets a 129-128 lead in the second overtime.
According to the league's report on all calls made during the last two minutes of a game and overtimes, officials missed a traveling call on Daniels. The report states he "moves his pivot foot prior to releasing the jump shot."
The Kings lost 129-128 in double overtime.
The league also confirmed the fouls that left up to DeMarcus Cousins' ejection were correct. He set a team record with 56 points on Tuesday before fouling out with 3:30 to go on the second overtime.
