Franklin High School Student, Man Arrested In Social-Media School Shooting Threat

ELK GROVE (CBS13) — A Franklin High School student who posted a school shooting threat to social media with a rifle and a ski mask has been arrested, as well as the owner of that gun.

A 16-year-old student was arrested after police tracked him down, and he was arrested for making electronic criminal threats.

Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies also arrested Jonathan Huynh, 19 of Elk Grove at the same home for possession of an illegal assault rifle. He's set to appear in court on Feb. 8.

No incidents of violence were reported at Franklin High School on Friday.

Friday's arrest comes after a middle-school student was robbed at gunpoint on Franklin High Road across from Toby Johnson Middle School, and Franklin High being placed on lockdown after reports of shots fired nearby on Thursday afternoon.
