Downtown Sacramento Restaurants Looking To Hire Up To 150 People

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Several restaurants ready to open in Downtown Sacramento are looking to hire 150 workers for the K Street Mall businesses.

The hiring fair will be from Feb. 10 to 12 at The Assembly on K Street, and many of the candidates are hoping to get a job at the restaurant just three blocks away.

Trevor Schults, owner of El Rey and Malt and Mash at 715 K Street says they are just weeks away from opening their doors to the public, and they need up to 150 workers.

"We're hiring all positions," he said. "Your servers, your bartenders, your bussers, your hostesses."

He says they also need cooks and chefs with at least three years experience, certified security guards and an entry-level dishwasher.

The restaurant is hoping to welcome its first customers in March, but there's plenty of work that still needs to be done. But Schults says timing and location are on his side, as he's just a block away from the Golden 1 Center, which opens this fall.

"It's great for Sacramento, for our community," he said.

He says now is the time to position his business for the possible influx of Kings fans and loyal restaurant customers.
