Outpouring Of Support For 7 Children Taken From Dirty Ceres Apartment

CERES (CBS13) - Police say there has been an outpouring of support for the seven children taken from a squalid apartment this week.

According to the Ceres Police Department, the children range in age from almost 9 years old to just 18 months.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to help the children is asked to make a check payable to the "Ceres Police Chaplains" and drop it off or mail it to the police department. They cannot accept cash donations.

People have already dropped off clothes and toys, police say.

"We are truly overwhelmed by your generosity and grateful for the out-pouring for these children. We will be working with CPS this coming week to ensure the children receive all that has been given to them," Ceres Police wrote in a Facebook post.

Officers who were originally responding to a possible domestic violence situation Tuesday night discovered the children living in a cockroach-infested apartment. The children were all sleeping on a dirty bed covered in fresh vomit.

Three adults - 26-year-old Suzanne Luna, 25-year-old Jose Garcia and 24-year-old Amy Luna - were arrested and are facing child endangerment charges.

Police have said Amy Luna is the mother of the children.
