Father Arrested After Natomas High Student Allegedly Brings Gun On Campus
3:55 p.m. UPDATE: Sacramento Police have arrested the father of the student on weapons-related charges.
The father is accused of possessing an assault weapon and child endangerment.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A student at Natomas High School has been detained by police for allegedly bringing a gun to school.
The incident happened just after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning at the campus on 301 Fong Ranch Road. The student pulled out the gun in class for unknown reasons. A teacher and the principal negotiated with the student and were able to convince him to hand over the gun, according to a statement from the Natomas Unified School District.
The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Multiple police cars were parked at the school and police were walking through campus looking for evidence.
