Toddler Found Wandering Streets In Los Angeles

COMPTON, Calif. (AP)  - Los Angeles County authorities are interviewing family members of a little girl found wandering alone in Compton.

The sheriff's department says the toddler, who appears to be about three years old, was found Saturday evening by a concerned citizen near Willowbrook Avenue and Alonda Boulevard.

Sgt. Eric Johnson says the girl's mother, father and grandmother called the Compton sheriff's station Sunday after seeing the child's photo on TV or online.

All three relatives are being interviewed by sheriff's detectives and officials with the Department of Children and Family Services.

COMPTON, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County authorities are asking for the public's help in locating the parents of a little girl found wandering alone in Compton.

The sheriff's department says the toddler, who appears to be about three years old, was found Saturday evening by a concerned citizen near Willowbrook Avenue and Alonda Boulevard.

Officials say the girl, possibly Latino or black, has a light complexion with dark hair and was wearing a pink t-shirt with a character from the movie "Minions" on it.

Her first name may be "Shanay" or "Janae" or something similar. She is being cared for Sunday the at the sheriff's Compton station.
