SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police arrested a man accused of burglarizing a Sacramento home while a woman and her grandson were inside.
Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, a woman says she and her 6-year-old grandson were in their home in the 1700 block of 16th Street when they heard a knock at the door. The woman went to the door and told the man at the door that he had the wrong house.
A short time later, the woman says she heard a knock on the back door. She called 911, suspecting it was the same man, and told police she then heard the man climbing inside through a dog door. She took her grandson and ran across the street to a nearby business, according to a statement from the Sacramento Police Department.
Officers arrived at the home and say they heard the suspect "crashing out the back dog door." A K9 was brought to the home and located the suspect in a crawl space beneath the home.
The suspect eventually surrendered to police. Jacob McDonald was arrested and booked into jail on the charge of burglary.
