100 Teens Throw Party In Ceres Home That's Up for Sale

CERES (CBS13) — Investigators say 100 teenagers broke into a Ceres house for sale and threw a beer bash.

The teens ended up in the home that had been on the market for about a month, but the illegal party didn't go as planned.

"There was a substantial amount of damage done, about $1,800 worth," said Sgt. Jason Coley.

The "For Sale" sign on the home didn't attract buyers, but for beer drinking and pot smoking high schoolers, it appeared to be the perfect party pad.

"I don't think there's anything that stood out," he said. "It's a nice home, it's up for sale so it was all clean."

The spacious four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is selling for $315,000.

"When the children arrived for the party they pulled the for sale sign down and hid it to make sure it looked like a house that wasn't for sale," he said.

Police say social-media posts promoted the party at the house with a pool and a big back yard, telling Twitter followers "respect the house … no drama at all," then adding, if you act stupid, who the f------ cares?

Jessica Gutierrez who lives next door called the police when she saw dozens of teenagers arrive carrying alcohol.

"I believe they were charging for entrance, so like $10 per head," she said.

Neighbors say the dozens of teens go to at least seven different local schools. The homeowner has declined to press charges against the teens in the case.

No arrests have been in the ongoing investigation.
