Police: Turlock Man Robbed, Kidnapped Woman Who Was Using ATM

TURLOCK (CBS13) - Police say a man robbed a woman who was using an ATM and then tried to sexually assault her.

The incident happened late Monday night. According to the Turlock Police Department, a woman was using an ATM around 11:30 p.m. at the Valley First Credit Union on Geer Road when a man - 19-year-old Robert Green - walked up to her.

Police say Green pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her, demanding money. He then allegedly forced the woman to get into her car and drive them both to a nearby park.

Green allegedly tried to sexually assault the woman but she refused. She managed to get away and call police.

Officers flooded the area and soon found Green driving the woman's car near Donnelly Park. A short chase started when officers tried to pull him over, but Green was eventually arrested after he ditched the car and tried to hide.

Green is facing charges of robbery, sexual assault, reckless evading and kidnapping, police say.
