Detectives Investigating How Toddler Shot Herself In South Sacramento Home
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A 2-year-old girl remains in critical condition after shooting herself in the head.
Detectives say the girl got her hands on a loaded gun inside a home on Countryfield Drive in Sacramento.
"The call that came in was from somebody within the house stating that the 2-year-old girl had shot herself," said Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Tony Turnbull.
The girl's mother was home at the time. The girl was still breathing when paramedics arrived after she shot herself in one of the bedrooms.
Detectives don't know how the toddler got the gun or who it belongs to.
No arrests have been made.
