GoGo Squeez Applesauce Packets Recalled

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (CBS) – A popular brand of applesauce pouches for kids is being recalled after inspectors found food product residue in factory pumps.

The company Materne North America is voluntarily recalling pouches of GoGo squeeZ with best buy dates between Dec. 4, 2015, and March 4, 2017, as a result of the findings. The company says no illnesses connected to the issue have yet been reported.

"While it is possible the food product residue may have been incorporated into finished product, we test our applesauce extensively, and at this time, we have not seen evidence of this in our pouches," said GoGo squeeZ CEO Michel Larroche.

The recall does not affect the company's organic products or new yogurt.

In October, the company recalled some pouches of GoGo squeeZ applesauce pouches because there was a chance they could contain mold.
