Dignity Health Increases Security After Alleged Threats Made By Doctor

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A doctor has been identified as a person of interest by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for alleged threats made to Dignity Health staff and leadership, CBS13 has learned.

Dr. Martin Straznicky was identified by Dignity Health security as a person of interest, according to a BOLO alert obtained by CBS13. The alert also says security has been heightened.

Straznicky is listed as part of the anesthesiology department.

Dignity Health would not go on camera for an interview about the alert, or reveal the nature of the threats. Instead, it issued this statement.

Dignity Health has been made aware of a potential threat to our hospitals, and out of an abundance of caution, we have staffed up security at all our local hospital facilities. The care and safety of our patients and employees is our top priority and we will continue to work with local law enforcement until this situation is resolved.

The FBI said it could not comment on any potential case, citing the possibility of an ongoing investigation.

The California Department of Consumer Affairs lists Straznicky's record as clean with no issues.
