Police: Officers Shoot, Kill Suspect In South Sacramento

11 a.m. Update: Officers shot and killed a suspect in south Sacramento on Friday morning, police say.

Sacramento Police say they first responded to the scene to investigate a suspicious man who was reportedly looking into windows in the area. Officers who first got to the scene found him hiding behind a car. He was arrested and put in the back of a squad car.

Officers say he was thrashing around in the back of the car, so they decided to try and secure him better. Once officers opened the door, however, the suspect managed to get out and take off running.

It is unclear if he had been handcuffed at this point.

The suspect ran through back yards in the area but was eventually confronted again by officers.

Officers say the suspect then took an aggressive stance and was threatening them. It was at this point that officers shot and killed him. Police say the suspect was armed with two knives.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.
