Possible Mountain Lion Sighting Prompts Lockdown At Placerville School

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) - A Placerville school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning due to a mountain lion possibly spotted near campus.

Placerville Police say they got a call just after 9:30 a.m. from Adventist School about the spotting.

Officers have responded to the school and are now checking the area. A warden from the Department of Fish and Wildlife is also responding to the scene to set up a trap.

The school was put on lockdown for a short time. By 10:20 a.m., the lockdown had been lifted.
