Police: Vandal Left Destruction, Blood At El Dorado County Driving Range

EL DORADO COUNTY - A suspect tore through a driving range, slashing tires and cutting sprinkler lines totaling up to $12,000 in damages.

"I don't know, he must be crazy," said the owner of the Bass Lake Driving Range.

In the 13 years he's owned the driving range, he said nothing this ridiculous has happened.

"He was here last night at 4 o'clock and making noise, but they didn't see," Ho said.

The suspect was caught on surveillance throwing boxes of golf balls and then left a trail of destruction, even his own blood, slashing the nets and tires, then ripping the sprinkler system into pieces.

"We don't know why this would happen in the first place," said Sarah Ho.

Their granddaughter said they don't recognize the man in the video and can't imagine who would do this.

"Kind of nuts because he didn't just ruin her car, he did it to the equipment and the tires on the golf carts," she said.

Her grandmother just had surgery and the overnight manager never saw the suspect, but hopes the suspect's careless mistakes will land him behind bars.

"We are aware that if people get mad at us for something small, they can lash out and react negatively to us," Sarah said.
