Fairfield Man Among 2 Killed Trying To Help Crash Victims In Arizona
SELIGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two people who were killed as they tried to help victims of a weather-related crash on Interstate 40 in northwestern Arizona.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say 58-year-old Marion Lee of Chino Valley, Arizona, and 56-year-old Clarence Earl Williams of Fairfield, California were fatally struck Saturday morning near Seligman.
Lee and Williams were among several drivers who stopped to help people in a pickup truck that rolled over and blocked the roadway around 10 a.m.
DPS officials say the two killed were struck by a pickup truck that was pulling a large trailer.
Lee reportedly celebrated her birthday the day before the crash.
According to DPS, heavy rain and hail were factors in at least four other accidents Saturday on I-40.
