Sacramento Police Arrest Man Behind Racist Fliers On Unrelated Charge

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Police say they've arrested a man who spread hate fliers throughout Downtown Sacramento on an unrelated probation violation.

Police say the letters were inflammatory, but don't break the law.

The fliers found on cars last week called for the execution of Muslims and Latinos. Police and FBI say they believed Gregory Withrow 55, of Oroville distributed the fliers, but he's protected by the First Amendment.

Withrow became famous in the 1980s as an activist for white supremacy. A 1989 Los Angeles Times article described him as neo-Nazi thug and founder of the Aryan youth movement.

He's been accused of distributing Holocaust-hoax fliers in the Los Angeles area and hateful letters in the Oroville area.

Withrow was booked into the Butte County Jail recently on an unrelated probation violation.
