Monday at 10 on CBS13: Double Mastectomy

"Once you're diagnosed with cancer, you're faced with your mortality before you're ready to face it," said one woman.

More than ever, women are opting to remove both their breasts to prevent breast cancer.

"I wanted to do whatever I could to get it out of my body," she said.

The majority are doing it without even being diagnosed.

"I didn't want to risk it," said another woman.

See why some women are having this aggressive surgery and hear why some doctors are calling a double mastectomy a major mistake.

See the story tonight at 10.
