Search On For Missing Hiker Near Donner Summit
DONNER SUMMIT (CBS13) – A search and rescue team is looking for a Rocklin man who went out hiking alone with his dog near Donner Summit.
The National Guard has joined the search.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Cody Michael was supposed to be back home by Monday night, but his family hasn't heard from him since Monday morning when he sent them a photo.
Deputies say he's an experienced hiker and has food and water, but they fear he may have fallen and can't reach help.
About 15 searchers are out on Tuesday looking for Michael. If necessary, at least 30 searchers will be out on Wednesday.
