Stanislaus Sheriff Warns To Wash Weed After Hyena Poison Found At Grow Site

STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) — The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is warning people to wash their weed after a chemical used to kill hyenas was found.

The warning comes after deputies removed 20,000 marijuana plants from a grow near the San Joaquin River earlier this week.

Investigators say the area near the grow contained several chemicals, including insecticides and pesticides. One of those chemicals was carbofuran, which is used to kill hyenas and lions in Africa.
