Driver Rescued After Crashing Into Canal In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Emergency crews pull a trapped driver from a van filled with water in a canal.

Fairfield firefighters and Vacaville police smashed the windows of the van and pulled out the driver along Peabody Road, south of Putah Creek.

Rescuers say the water was up to his neck when they arrived.

The driver says he doesn't remember anything.

"God's got a plan for me I guess," Bradley Anderson, the rescued driver, said.

Authorities say the driver is diabetic and passed out due to low blood sugar.
