1 Teen Killed, 1 Teen Injured In South Modesto Shooting

MODESTO (CBS13) - A teenage girl was shot and killed early Monday morning in South Modesto.

Around midnight, two teens, a girl, 13, and a boy, 15, were standing in front of their residence in the 1600 block of Pelton Avenue when a car drove up. After the boy had a short conversation with a passenger, the passenger pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting both teens, according to a statement from Modesto police.

Police received several reports of gunfire in the area, and when they arrived, found the wounded teens. The girl was taken to the hospital where she later died. The boy was also rushed to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
