Detectives Arrest 17-Year-Old Male In Shooting Death Of Teen In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento sheriff's homicide detectives have arrested a boy, 17, in the shooting death of a teenage girl on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. on the 8700 Block of Innisheer Way in South Sacramento, according to Sacramento Sheriff's Spokesman Tony Turnbull. Deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene of the shooting and found 16-year-old Macy Murphy in a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound to her upper body.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 9 a.m. Monday, detectives went to the home of the suspect, where they found the suspect and took him into custody. He was later booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall for murder. He is ineligible for bail, Turnbull says.
