1 Missing, 3 Injured In Boating Accident At Camp Far West Lake
PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) - A boating accident Sunday afternoon left one person missing and three others injured at Camp Far West Lake in Placer County.
The incident happened when a boat carrying six people reportedly hit some wake, causing the boat to split.
Yuba and Placer County authorities were dispatched to search for the missing victim after the others were taken to local hospitals.
"We had some occupants transported, some are on shore recovering physically...lifevests, that's currently part of the investigation. We're trying to see who was wearing one, who wasn't, and if that was a factor at all as well," said Sgt. Josh Tindall, a Placer County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.
One of the victims was listed in critical condition Sunday evening, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.
The search was suspended Sunday evening and is scheduled to resume Monday.
