South Sacramento Drive-By Shooting Wounds 5 On Memorial Day

5:00 p.m. UPDATE: Investigators say an 18-year-old man was critically injured when he was shot in the head.

Witnesses say gunfire sprayed a home on 44th Street.

A woman we spoke to says her boyfriend was struck from behind by a bullet and told her to call an ambulance.

Gang detectives are on scene, but investigators say they're still processing the scene and can't confirm if it was gang-related.

4:45 p.m. UPDATE: Investigators say five people were hit in a South Sacramento drive-by shooting on Monday.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — At least two people have been shot on 44th Street in South Sacramento on Monday.

The Sacramento Sheriff's Department says at least two people have been shot on the 3900 block of 44th Street.

Witnesses say multiple people were shot at what it described as a Memorial Day party. A neighbor says she heard five shots fired at the time.

The neighborhood is taped off as investigators try to figure out what happened.

Their condition is unknown at this time.
