Hammer-Wielding Man Attacks Elk Grove Walmart Employee In Parking Lot
ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police are looking for a man accused of attacking a Walmart employee in the parking lot.
Investigators say it happened Thursday evening at the Walmart off of Highway 99 on Elk Grove Boulevard.
Officers say the victim was on the job gathering shopping carts when the suspect approached him and engaged in small talk. Then, for no apparent reason, police say the suspect pulled out a hammer and struck the employee in the face and ran off.
"The suspect then fled on foot and the victim suffered a gash over his left eye," said Officer Chris Trimm with Elk Grove police.
The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover.
