Safe And Sane Fireworks Sales Begin On Tuesday

Fireworks sales begin on Tuesday. However, not all counties and municipalities allow fireworks - even the safe and sane kind.

Below is a list of all the counties in the area and their policies on fireworks:

Amador: Permitted in Jackson, Sutter Creek, Plymouth and Ione. The use and possession of fireworks, including safe and sane fireworks in all unincorporated areas of the County are illegal.

Calaveras County: Safe and sane fireworks allowed in most areas.

Colusa: Safe and sane fireworks are allowed.

El Dorado: Fireworks of any kind are not permitted.

Nevada: Safe and sane fireworks will be allowed in Nevada City on the Fourth of July. Fireworks are prohibited in the unincorporated areas of the county and in the City of Grass Valley.

Placer: Varies by municipality. Check with your local authorities. Fireworks of any type are prohibited in unincorporated areas.

Plumas: Fireworks of any kind are prohibited.

Sacramento: Safe and sane fireworks are allowed.

San Joaquin: Safe and sane fireworks are permitted in all cities. Fireworks are illegal in unincorporated areas.

Sierra: Fireworks of any kind are prohibited.

Solano: Fireworks of any kind are prohibited except in Dixon, Rio Vista and Suisun City.

Stanislaus: Safe and sane fireworks are permitted in all cities beginning at noon on June 28 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on July 6. Fireworks are illegal in the unincorporated areas.

Sutter: Safe and sane fireworks are allowed.

Tuolumne: Fireworks of any kind are not permitted.

Yolo: Varies by municipality. Fireworks are prohibited in Davis and unincorporated areas.

Yuba: Allowed in some areas such as Linda, Marysville, Olivehurst and Wheatland.  Check your local municipality
