Marijuana Grow Found At Stockton Auto Shop That Burned

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton fire investigators are still determining what started Thursday night's four-alarm fire.

The auto repair business along South Wilson Way is destroyed.

Firefighters did manage to keep the flames from destroying to nearby businesses.

PG&E crews and arson investigators packed much of South Wilson Way in Stockton Friday morning.

Crews worked to restore power to the area after wires overhead caught fire.

"I was so surprised," said Jose Aceves, who owns a property right next to the Antbanks Auto Repair Shop, which caught fire Thursday evening.

"My neighbor gave me a call and said there was a fire, so I drove up to see what happened," Aceves said.

Aceves drove all the way from his home in Concord Friday morning to survey the damage.

Arson investigators are still trying to find what caused the auto shop to go up in flames Thursday.

Stockton Police confirm there was evidence of marijuana grow inside the auto shop.

Fire investigators have requested for heavy equipment to help sift through that evidence

Nearby businesses were also damaged by the fire.

CBS 13 tried to speak with the owners of the auto repair shop, but they declined to comment.

Aceves' property is now a complete loss.

"Now we have to start all over."

South Wilson Way will continue to be an active scene for the next few days as PG&E crews and the fire department continue with the investigation.
