Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges For Allegedly Scaring Dog With Fireworks
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. (CBS13) - A Georgia man is facing animal cruelty charges after a video clip surfaced on Facebook of the man allegedly scaring his dog with fireworks.
The cellphone video, which was shot by William Scaffidi's daughter, shows a man lighting fireworks on his porch then going inside the home. The fireworks then explode, sending his dog, Betty Boop, scrambling for cover.
According to WSB-TV, Fulton County Animal Services took action after neighbors and friends shared the video, which Scaffidi reportedly shared to Facebook, and outcry erupted.
"The thing is, is that it wasn't even a prank," Scaffidi told WSB-TV. "It wasn't a prank. A lot of people say you put the plants there to trap the dog. That's ridiculous. I didn't even know the dog was there."
Scaffidi also reportedly faces a charge of not having a license for the dog.
