REPORT: Kings' Rudy Gay Requests Trade

Over the past couple weeks, rumors of Sacramento Kings small forward Rudy Gay seeking a trade have surfaced. That rumor is apparently true and still active as Sacramento Bee sports columnist Ailene Voisin tweeted that the Kings are still looking for a trade partner to unload Gay.

The Kings have made a few minor moves so far in an otherwise busy NBA offseason: trading away Marco Belinelli for a draft pick, signing Anthony Tolliver, Garrett Temple as well as signing veterans Aaron Afflalo and Matt Barnes.

With most of the top free agents already picked up by other teams, the Kings are still looking for improvements via trade. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, center Kosta Koufos and guard Ben McLemore are also on the trading block.

It's unsure what the target is for the Kings, but their main weaknesses arise from the guard positions and, more generally, on defense.

Some have speculated scoring shooting guard Monta Ellis, 30, of the Indiana Pacers could make a return to Northern California (began his career with the Golden State Warriors), but nothing has been confirmed. Also, free agent point guard Ty Lawson has expressed interest in Sacramento but it appears the Kings have yet to kick the tires on him.
