Initiative Aims To Bring Down Educational Barriers In Oak Park
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Mayor Kevin Johnson is launching an initiative to end poverty in the Oak Park neighborhood.
The mayor and leaders from UC Davis, University of the Pacific and Sac State will announce a new partnership on Thursday with Oak Park neighbors.
It's a 15-year initiative aimed at helping children and remove educational barriers to bring generations out of poverty.
The group will present the plan at 3 p.m. at the Guild Theater on 35th Street near Broadway.
