Firefighter Hurt Battling Fire At Marijuana Grow House

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The latest on a fire at a home in south Sacramento:

11:50 a.m.

Sacramento Fire says the home that burned was an illegal marijuana grow house.

A fire captain injured his knee while trying to get inside the house, Sacramento Fire says. The home's door was apparently reinforced with plywood. Heavy steel bars and plywood reinforced the home's windows.

The fire captain has been transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police and fire investigators are at the scene.

11:25 a.m.

Crews are battling a fire at a south Sacramento home late Monday morning.

The scene is along the 7600 block of Denise Street.

Sacramento Fire reports heavy black smoke is coming from the home.
