Sacramento Teacher Accused Of Molesting Underage Teen Girl In Parked Car

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A 49-year-old Sacramento Unified School District teacher is under investigation after police say they caught him in an alleged sex act with a minor.

The suspect teaches special education at Kennedy High School.

Parents are appalled to hear a special education teacher is accused of molesting an underage teen girl.

Ramon Rosales, 49, was booked into jail on two misdemeanor charges, and then released.

Yolo County Sheriff's Officers say they spotted him with a girl, parked along the river, off County Road 119 and Old River Road. They say it was a crime in progress.

It's an alleged crime parents are having a hard time making sense of.

"A teacher is supposed to teach the kids and help the kids grow up…and make the kids succeed, you know," said Eugene Wen.

"Just gotta protect 'em, I mean I'm sure that child's parents are feeling the same way, but that's terrible," another parent said.

Investigators say they're combing through Rosales' cell phone records, as they try to figure out the extent of his alleged relationship with the minor.

It's unclear whether she's one of his students, or whether there are more victims.

School officials say Rosales has been employed at Kennedy High School since 2008. He has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Sacramento Unified School District released a statement saying it is working closely with law enforcement.
