Health Officials Investigate Probable Zika Virus Case In Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Public health officials say they're investigating a probable case of Zika in Sacramento County.

The Sacramento County Division of Public Health said in a release Thursday that a 34-year-old man possibly has the virus. He is believed to have traveled to an area active with Zika recently.

Zika is primarily transmitted to humans by mosquito bites from particular kinds of mosquitos infected with the disease. Those mosquitoes have not been detected in Sacramento County.
