A suspect is in custody after a standoff with the Stockton and Oakland police departments.

The situation lasted for nearly seven hours overnight.

Stockton police say it all started at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when Oakland police officers attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant to a suspect in a home on Dallas Avenue, near Gerogia Avenue.

The suspect barricaded himself in the home along with three children.

A SWAT team and negotiators were soon called to the scene.

Just after 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Stockton police say two of those kids came out of the home unharmed. One remained inside.

Around 4:30 a.m., the remaining child came out of the home unharmed. Officers then went inside and got the suspect out without incident.

It is unclear exactly what the suspect is wanted for.
