It's Not Too Late To Get Your Summer Body

Summer is in full swing, and that means many more opportunities to get out and enjoy the sun, whether it's boating on Folsom Lake, laying out on Stinson Beach, or exploring far-flung areas.

But does slipping into a swimsuit, a tank top or short shorts give you feelings of dread? If you're anything like the majority of active Sacramentans, getting your body beach-ready was somewhere near the top of your spring to-do list, but didn't quite get all the way completed.

While summer is slipping by, along with proper diet and daily exercise, there's another way to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat. That's with a procedure called CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive system that was developed at Harvard University in 2009 and kills fat cells in a targeted way by freezing them. One session takes as little as an hour and permanently kills about 25 percent of the fat cells that are being treated. You still have to maintain a healthy lifestyle to maintain the effects, but you'll see results after one session.

The procedure is simple. After the doctor marks the area where the fat cells will be removed, he covers the area with a small gel mat then puts on the CoolSculpting unit. The unit then gently sucks in the area being removed and the cooling process begins.

Best of all, the procedure is painless. You might feel a little discomfort shortly after the procedure, but that wears off in no time.

You can find out more about CoolSculpting at Elk Grove Medical Spa.
